Longer opening hours in Late March for Walt Disney World    

22nd March 2024 - Visiting guests of Walt Disney World can now enjoy extra long opening hours from late March 2024. Beginning on the 24^th March, the opening hours of Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom have been extended by three hours. Disney’s Hollywood Studios also sees a slight increase too by half an hour. Below is the update opening times for each park:

Disney's Animal Kingdom:

March 24: 8 am - 7 pm (previously 9 am - 6 pm)

March 25 - 30: 8 am - 8 pm (previously 9 am - 6 pm)

Magic Kingdom:

March 24 - 30: 8 am - 11 pm (previously 9 am - 9 pm)

Disney's Hollywood Studios:

March 25 - 26, 28 - 30: 9 am - 9:30 pm (previously 9 am - 9 pm)

Universal Orlando Shares Details of Its Brand-New Theme Park, Universal Epic Universe    

20th February 2024 - Universal Orlando Resort has unveiled details of its highly-anticipated new theme park Universal Epic Universe which is set to open to guests in 2025. The park will feature more than 50 incredible attraction, entertainment, dining and shopping experiences to lucky guests creating a level of immersion that is unmatched anywhere else in the world. 

Celestial Park has been revealed within this exciting update, and is billed to be the beating heart of Universal Epic Universe with acres of lush gardens, stunning architecture, and thrilling attractions including rollercoasters, restaurants, and merchandise shops. In addition to this, the Universal Helios Grand Hotel will be exclusively within Epic Universe and promises to transport guests to a world where the heavens and earth reunite, with 500 plush rooms and one of a kind views across the resort. 

Universal Brings the Extravagance of Mardi Gras to Orlando   

30th January 2024 - For the city of New Orleans, Mardi Gras is the most important celebration of the year. It's a fun-filled, extravagant time to be in the city, and to mark the special occasion, Universal Orlando Resort will be hosting its very own celebrations. Inspired by the Carnaval traditions found worldwide, Universal Mardi Gras is billed to be an unforgettable celebration, bringing the magic of Mardi Gras to Orlando, with a dazzling parade winding through the resort, beads by the bucketful, live concerts on selected evening, and even a delicious array of New Orleans-inspired cuisine for you to sample. Universal Mardi Gras will be running from 3rd February to 7th April 2024. 

Immerse Yourself in the Brand-New DreamWorks Themed Land at Universal Orlando Resort  

26th January 2024 - Universal Orlando Resort have announced a brand-new DreamWorks Animation themed land for 2024, featuring some of the animation studio's most loved characters and the colourful and energetic worlds they live in. Share special moments with icons like Gabby from Gabby's Dollhouse, and also explore the interactive worlds and attractions that bring popular franchises like Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda to life in front of your very eyes. DreamWorks' themed land is sure to be a magical adventure where all of your animated dreams come true!

Early closing time for Magic Kingdom on January 29th  

19th January 2024 - Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World will close early at 4:30pm on January 29th 2024 due to the Cast Service celebration event. Held annually, these celebrations reward long-serving Disney Cast Members who have reached important milestones in their career, ranging from 10 to 50 years in service. If you're planning to visit Magic Kingdom on the 29th, be prepared for an early closing time. 

Official park hours on the 29th January 2024: 9am to 4:30pm, with early entry for resort hotel guests from 8:30am to 9am.

Disney's magical Disney100 celebration has now launched at EPCOT, Walt Disney World!

22nd September 2023 - A number of limited-time offerings will be available at the park, including a meet-and-greet with Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their platinum outfits at the Imagination pavilion, a nightly light show on Spaceship Earth that will feature a special rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star,” and a platinum statue of Mickey Mouse added in front of the Disney100 backdrop. Disney100 festivities at Disney World will end on 31st December 2023!

Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party Returns to Walt Disney World!

18th September 2023 - Making a return to Magic Kingdom from November 9 through December 22, 2023, Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party offers reserved firework viewing and a dessert buffet! Reservations open on September 28, 2023. A valid admission ticket for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on the same night is required, and is not included in the price of the dessert party.

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana - Opening Late 2023!

4th September 2023 - Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is scheduled to open in late 2023 within World Nature—the EPCOT neighbourhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty and balance of the natural world. Explore the wonders of water along a lush trail that’s fun for all ages—based on the Disney animated film Moana.

Minion Land has officially opened at Universal Orlando Resort!

11th August 2023 - Today marks the day! Universal Orlando Resort has officially opened Minion Land on Illumination Avenue to guests! Minion Land expands upon the popular Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction to engage the entire family in a new collection of adventures inspired by Illumination’s Minions franchise. In Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast guests can blast their way to supervillain stardom!

Universal Orlando Resort Reveal All NEW Plans for Minion Land!

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Dates Announced at Walt Disney World Resort!

20th April 2023 - We are halfway to the Halloween event at Walt Disney World Resort and we already can't wait for the celebrations! Starting August 11th 2023 in the Magic Kingdom Park, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will commence with spooky celebrations across the park. Halloween themed characters will be found throughout, along with plenty of spellbinding entertainment that will have guests shaking with excitement! The party ends on 1st November 2023, so be sure to visit before then to witness this incredible celebration!

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Mama Odie Appearance!

12th April 2023 - In Princess Tiana's debut attraction, it has just been announced that Mama Odie will be making a surprise appearance in this musical adventure, starting 31st May 2023! Be prepared for a brand-new cast of original Disney characters, new incredible musical numbers with a New Orleans theme, and of course familiar faces from your favourite Disney films!

Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World Resort will be closing on 31st May 2023 to make way for this themed musical. This is a show not to missed.

Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights Now Available for Purchase!

Walt Disney World's Typhoon Lagoon Reopens to Guests!

2nd March 2023 - As the weather starts to get warmer, things also begin to heat up at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida! Disney have announced that the fan-favourite Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen to guests on 19th March 2023. This amazing park is home to some of the best water attractions arround, and in May, will feature the incredible Disney After Hours H20 Glow Event!

New Theme Park and Dates Added for Disney After Hours Event!

21st February 2023 - Not only have Disney added new dates for their marvelous Disney After Hours event, but they have also added a new theme park! For the first, you can experience EPCOT for three hours after the gates close and gain access to top attractions, like Frozen Ever After, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. In this ticketed event, you'll have the chance to explore all four neighborhoods in the park with shorter attraction wait times.

Also, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen this spring with H2O Glow After Hours coming back, ready to light up your summer. H2O Glow is another new experience added to the Disney After Hours portfolio.

These fan-favorite experiences are scheduled to start 20th May 2023 at Typhoon Lagoon and 1st June at EPCOT. They join Magic Kingdom Park, running through 27th March, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, currently running with additional dates being added at the beginning 3rd May. It's time to experience this Disney magic in a whole new way!

Brand New Mickey's Toontown Attraction Opening to Celebrate Disney's 100th Anniversary

24th January 2023 - It's not everyday we see a brand new attraction at Walt Disney World, and Disney's 100th Anniversary makes the grand opening celebrations of this attraction even more special! While the majority of the Mickey's Toontown won't reopen for guests until Spring 2023, the brand new Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway attraction will open on 27th January, just in time for the start of Dinsey100. This family-friendly attraction has guests hopping aboard a train driven by Goofy where you will be taken into the cartoon world of Mickey Mouse and his pals.

The 27th January will also mark the start of Disney's 100th Anniversary celebrations with the Disney100 party happening throughout the enrirety of 2023! This huge anniversary will feature new anniversary souvenirs to purchase, wonderous nighttime spectaculars and plenty more celebrations that will be announced throughout 2023.

Magic Kingdom Nighttime Spectaculars Announced for April 2023

10th January 2023 - On 3rd April 2023, fan-favourite nighttime spectacle "Happily Ever After" returns to the Magic Kingdom Park featuring all-new projections down Main Street, U.S.A. Enjoy "Disney Enchantment" fireworks displays until 2nd April. It will be time to find your "Happily Ever After" very soon at the most magical place on earth, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida!

Walt Disney World presents the 50th Anniversary celebration!

NEW Extended Evening Theme Park Hours Continue Throughout 2023 

11th November 2022 - Guests staying in Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and other select hotels have the chance to enjoy the magic even longer as Disney announces they’re extending their evening theme park hours.

14th October 2022 - It’s time to get your running shoes on, as Walt Disney World have revealed their medal designs ahead of the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by CORKCICLE due to take place between 23rd – 26th February 2023. Not only will the weekend celebrate all things athletic, but this magical racing event will pay homage to your favourite Disney Princesses. Those running the 5K course will receive a medal that features Princess Jasmine from Aladdin whilst those on the 10K course will have a medal with Princess Belle. Celebrate Moana by running the Half Marathon or Cinderella by taking on the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge.

16th September 2022 - A BRAND NEW attraction inspired by Disney’s Moana is coming to EPCOT! Journey of Water, which will be a water maze that allows guests to interact with the magic of water, and will aim to engage and educate adventurers on the story of water and how it sustains our beautiful world, is set to open in late 2023. 19th August 2022 - Universal Orlando have announced its plans for its highly anticipated Halloween Horror Nights, which is set to commence 2nd September 2022 and will spook guests until 31st October 2022. The 31st instalment of the spine chilling event will feature a total of 10 haunted houses, five scare zones, including a zone designed and inspired by The Weekend himself as well as two live shows to name a few thrilling experiences. NEW The launch of MagicBand+

29th July 2022 - Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is all about technological innovation that will help enhance its guest’s experience. From 27th July, guests will be able to interact with their favourite Disney stories like never before, with the launch of Disney’s newest wearable, MagicBand+, the next generation of Walt Disney World’s beloved MagicBand. This upgrade in technology will allow guests to not only enjoy the convenience of Park and room entry, as well as being able to manage their PhotoPass as we have seen in the past, but will also mean guests can unlock exciting moments of magic throughout the theme parks and resorts. With colour-changing lights, haptic vibrations and gesture recognition, guests will be able to embark on the Disney Fab 50 Quest, a scavenger hunt around the theme parks, using the MagicBand+ to spread pixie dust and interact with the golden character sculptures. PLUS, you’ll be able to experience night-time spectaculars in a new way, as your bands will light up and complement the colours that will light up the night sky to name a few!

14th June 2022 - Visiting Walt Disney World Resort and aren’t hiring a car? Don’t worry, the Minnie Van™ service have you covered. Available through the Lyft app, the Minnie™ Van service is a great way to travel around quickly and in comfort, with the added benefit of travelling in a Disney-owned and operated vehicle, driven by a cast member. Prices are very competitive and it’s easy to request a ride through the Lyft app no matter where on resort you are!

NEW Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! - Returning June 13th!

10th June 2022 - Take a trip ‘under the sea’ as you enjoy the return of the exciting stage show ‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond!’ Based on the ever popular Disney.Pixar film Finding Nemo, the show takes you on an exciting adventure, similar to the film, through a combination of live performers and animated backdrops, all taking place in a theatre complete with innervational lighting, sound and special effects to bring Nemo’s undersea world to life! This amazing performance features popular songs such as ‘In the Big Blue World’ and ‘Go with the Flow’.

NEW Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is open!

30th May 2022 - After almost 5 years since the attraction was announced, we are ecstatic to announce that Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is finally open at Walt Disney World Resort! The futuristic family-thrill coaster, which is located in World Discovery at EPCOT has opened its doors, and it is sure not to disappoint. Guests will start their adventure by touring the Galaxarium - a futuristic space-like exhibition which shows the differences between Xandar and Earth’s galaxies. As the tour is about to come to a close, you will be called into action and asked to help the likes of Groot, Gamora, Rocket and Star-Lord on an urgent and thrilling mission, are you ready?!

NEW Harmony Barber Shop reopening 31st July!

27th May 2022 - The much loved Harmony Barber Shop, located on Main Street U.S.A® will be reopening its doors on the 31st July at Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park. This traditional and old-fashioned barbers provides haircuts for both adults and children, and is sure to be a memorable experience, who else can say they had a haircut in the most magical place on earth? Advance reservations are recommended via the My Disney Experience App, however a limited number of walk-in appointment are also available.  

NEW Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets now on general sale!

20th May 2022 - Tickets for the Halloween event of the year have finally gone on general sale! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an event like no other. Guests will be able to dress in their spookiest Halloween costumes, and of course, it wouldn’t be Halloween without lots of candy and treats! You’ll be able to experience Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, with an incredible(‘ly spooky) fireworks display which features your favourite Disney Characters and Disney villains!

NEW Brand new details on EPCOT transformation revealed!

13th May 2022 - Disney imagineers have been busy redesigning spaces within EPCOT to incorporate a more international flare. The newly released plans, show a beautiful hub in World Celebration, which is divided into different styled gardens. Each garden will have a different feel, and will change according to the various EPCOT festivals each year. Breath-taking light features will be installed to create an immersive night time experience, that will also change through the seasons. The luscious gardens will surround CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall, an outdoor event area and multi-use facility that brings the international festivals of EPCOT to life, through musical performances.

6th May 2022 - No trip to Walt Disney World would be complete without watching ‘Fantasmic!’ and it’s no wonder why. The spectacular show features world class special effects, incredible pyrotechnics and mesmerising music, including dozens of Disney Characters from some of your much-loved movies. 29th April 2022 - Construction for Universal’s Epic Universe is in full swing and we at MagicBreaks couldn’t be more excited! The theme park, which will be the largest in the US and second globally, is said to be the most immersive and innovative theme park that Universal have ever created. 22nd April 2022 - The long awaited day has finally arrived, character hugs are finally back at Walt Disney World! Guests at Walt Disney World Resort will now be able to hug, high five and pose for selfies with their favourite Disney Characters! NEW Moana's Journey of Water Attraction comes to Walt Disney World

14th April 2022 - Fans of the popular Disney film Moana are in for a real treat as Disney have announced the first-ever attraction inspired by the hit Walt Disney Studios film. Journey of Water will be a walk-through exploration trail, where guests can experience true magic and living water amongst a truly stunning naturistic setting. The exciting attraction will be based in Epcot and does not yet have a confirmed opening date. More information to follow!

NEW Opening date confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

8th April 2022 - The news we’ve all been waiting for, the opening date for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has been announced, and it’s very soon! The highly anticipated intergalactic attraction will finally be opening its doors at Walt Disney World on May the 27th 2022! The soon to open ride, which is located in Epcot, is going to feature the first ever reverse-launch on a Disney rollercoaster and will rotate a full 360 degrees, so you won’t miss any action!

NEW Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights goes on sale

1st April 2022 - The Halloween event of the year has just gone on sale and is set to be scarier than ever before! Not one for the faint-hearted, those brave enough to attend will make their way through 10 spooky haunted houses, 5 creepy scare zones and 2 exciting live shows, along with select attractions at Universal Studios’. NEW H2O Glow After Hours

25th March 2022 - The ever popular Disney H20 Glow After Hours is returning to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park from May 28th, and is set to run every Saturday until August 27th. Walt Disney World have promised that this year will be the best ever, with brand new elements set to shake up the summer! The event features complimentary food and beverages, along with amazing DJ’s that will transform the water park into a family beach party like no other! NEW TRON Lightcycle Power Run coming to Magic Kingdom Park

18th March 2022 - A brand new futuristic roller coaster has recently been announced as an exciting addition to the much loved Magic Kingdom Park. The coaster, which also runs in the Shanghai Disneyland has proven very popular with guests and is expected to be even more popular at Walt Disney World! We are yet to receive more information on the roller coaster as Disney are keeping this exciting project under wraps, however we have been assured that this is not one to miss when it opens. NEW Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

11th March 2022 - Just when you thought Epcot couldn’t get anymore exciting, Walt Disney World have announced a brand new Guardians of the Galaxy themed roller coaster! This super high-tech attraction is currently under construction for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary and is scheduled to open in Summer 2022. Disney have gone all out with this first-of-a-kind attraction, which is going to be one of the longest enclosed coasters in the world!

NEW Brand new and returning entertainment

4th March 2022 - The magic is back and bigger than ever at Walt Disney World, as a mixture of your favourite shows return and brand new events make their debut. First up in Magic Kingdom is the brand new Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade which features nearly 30 much-loved characters from the likes of Zootopia, the Jungle Book and even Miguel from Coco in his debut park appearance! Also, the hugely popular Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade returns from the 9th of March, which includes beloved Disney characters, the show stopper being the fire-breathing Maleficent Dragon that towers 26 feet in the air.

NEW Epcot International Flower and Garden festival returns!

25th February 2022 - The Epcot International Flower and Garden festival returns on March 2nd and we couldn't be anymore excited! The park's landscape will be transformed by thousands of plants and other unique garden exhibits! As well as these displays, there will be the option to sample a range of creative cuisines from the various outdoor kitchen stalls! This Spring time event lasts until July 4th.
