Whether you regularly travel to Europe by car or are planning a single trip, it's important to make sure your vehicle has appropriate European breakdown cover.

We can offer breakdown policies to prepare you for a range of eventualities. If your vehicle requires roadside assistance while in Europe, our breakdown cover can ensure you are towed to a local garage, given a replacement car or even provided with overnight accommodation. Alternatively, we can offer policies to support you if your vehicle is stolen, or if you require legal funds.

What we offer

We can offer three levels of European breakdown cover and options for annual multitrip and single trip policies. Single trip policies will cover a maximum duration of 180 days, whereas an annual multitrip policy will cover an unlimited number of trips, with a maximum duration of 31 days per trip (with options for 62 and 93 days per trip). 

Area of European breakdown cover

You will be covered in the direct journeys between your home and your international departure point from the UK and on into Europe, until such time as you complete your journey back to your home address in the UK. European breakdown cover is defined by 3 areas:

• Area 1: Travel only to the following: Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland

• Area 2: Andorra, Austria, Canaries, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Madeira, Monaco, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City

• Area 3: (Rest of Europe): Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Solvenia 

Important Information

Our policies cover up to 8 passengers (including the driver). Assistance will be provided to each passenger for onward travel to their destination if they lose the use of their vehicle for more than 8 hours.

Following an incident either in the UK or abroad which results in you needing assistance, you have unlimited access to an English speaking call centre with multi lingual translation assistance services. Support services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round.
